→ a gang member with a carefree attitude and an unstable state of mind, he's a pathological liar with little idea of self-preservation though he cares deeply about his fellows

General Assessment: A survivor to his mother's abuse and a failed ritual, Kano is a danger to himself and others. With the voices of the Old Ones and his snake whispering in his mind, it's difficult for him to discern reality and fantasy. Still, his priority is in protecting those close to him and in gaining his mother's forgiveness.

Lucidity

Kano has been surprisingly hardy as a child, having weathered the abuse he suffered at his mother's hands without much damage. However, the events leading up to and after the snake cult's ritual has left his psyche greatly shaken. Worse yet is his mother's rejection of him, which serves little to give him stability. Nightmares are common for him, leading to insomnia. In addition, his habit of lying leaves him uncertain of what's true or not. Voices, both his snake and the Old Ones, only serves to skew his perception even more. He deals with his issues through liberal use of honey.

Stability

Kano's stability straddles a fine line. Obsessive and erratic behavior, such as visiting his old home and disappearing at random intervals to take walks through the most unsafe parts of the city, are common from him. Lying about trivial matters, gaslighting, and various other manipulative behavior is to be expected. On especially bad days, he has a tendency to overindulge in honey as a placebo. When it comes to protecting the Dan and his friends, he has little to no moral grounds. Violence is something he won't hesitate to use, though he definitely prefers to indirectly cause harm than to be a direct cause. He doesn't want to get his own hands too dirty. Guilt is a huge factor as well--it's been a constant plague for him to the point where he blames himself for most anything bad that happens. He's been encouraged to discard this line of thinking, though there's been little progress. It won't take much of a push to get him off the edge, since he's already teetering on it.

Normativity

Despite these issues, Kano fits into the society fairly well. He jokes around, he follows the rules (for the most part), enjoys magazines, photography, and being obnoxious. It's difficult to see his instability and issues at first glance, which is just how he intends it to be. He would much prefer to be seen as a normal kid and to live the life of one, versus the life that's been handed to him.
